
Carl Bornmann
Litigation Support ManagerCarl Bornmann is the Litigation Support Manager at Filippi Law Firm, P.C., where he brings over two decades of diverse legal experience to the team. Carl’s extensive background spans civil litigation, government counsel, and regulatory law, making him a valuable asset in handling complex matters with skill, strategy, and efficiency.
Before joining the firm, Carl served as Deputy Attorney General for the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, where he provided legal counsel to major state agencies including the Department of Banking and Insurance, the Real Estate Commission, and the Department of Transportation. He also worked in both private practice and in-house legal roles, including positions at Tiemann Law Firm, Arnold Law Firm, and as General Counsel for Music Together, LLC, where he handled intellectual property enforcement and licensing.
Carl earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where he served as an editor for the Environmental Law Review, and holds a B.A., cum laude, in Politics/Government and Psychology from the University of Hartford.
Known for his strong legal writing, research, and negotiation skills, Carl has also served as a mentor to junior attorneys and remains active in his community as a youth soccer coach and mock trial coach. In addition to law, Carl has a passion for education and the arts—he’s taught in K-12 settings, led mock trial programs for youth, and written plays produced by local theater companies.
